George Mazin

George Mazin is an experienced financial services and investment management lawyer who spent his career representing hedge fund, private equity fund and credit managers, as well as other financial services firms in a broad range of matters, including the structuring and restructuring of domestic and offshore private funds, private placements of securities, structured products, and broker-dealer and investment adviser compliance. Mr Mazin has also assisted clients with seed investments, the organization of joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions involving investment management firms. Mr. Mazin recently retired from the full time practice of law, after spending the last 16 years at Dechert LLP, an international law firm, where he served in a variety of leadership roles.

Since 2007, Mr Mazin has been recommended as a leading lawyer for investment funds by Chambers USA, a referral guide to leading lawyers in the United States based on the opinions of peers and clients. Mr Mazin is also recommended by the Legal 500(US), the Practical Law Company’s Which Lawyer Guide and listed as a leading lawyer in the category of US investment funds by IFLR 1000. Mr. Mazin is a former member of a number of prominent industry boards and committees. He has also been a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has authored many articles of interest to the private funds industry.

Mr Mazin is a graduate of Queens College, The City University of New York. He also holds a masters degree from Cornell University and a JD from Rutgers School of Law. He is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bars.
